Pheasants Forever is committed to investing in the future of conservation, sharing outdoor traditions, and developing a conservation ethic.
Our chapter members volunteer time to engage thousands of youth annually through education and outreach programs: mentor hunts, pollinator habitat projects, and shooting sports. Theses activities are a great way to spend time with friends and family and spend more time outdoors. Contact your local chapter for more information on how to become involved as a volunteer or participant.
Pheasants Forever is also involved in R3 efforts to recruit, retain, and reactive participants in hunting, shooting sports, and other outdoor activities. Children who are introduced to the outdoors are more likely to participate in outdoor activities as adults. Now, more than ever, the future of conservation depends on the involvement of the outdoor community.
Since 1996, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever chapters in Nebraska have had over 13,000 youths attend a Youth Mentor Hunt! The program has been very rewarding and is designed to target those youth that have a strong interest in hunting, but limited opportunities to go hunting. The Youth Mentor Hunt Program provides a mentored opportunity for youth 12-15 years of age.
Pheasants Forever equips chapters with the resources to engage youth, families and local communities in establishing pollinator habitat projects. The Youth Pollinator Habitat Program aims to educate youth on the importance of pollinators and pollinator habitat as well as establishing quality pollinator habitat. Nationally, we have completed 284 pollinator habitat projects, engaging more than 25,000 participants.
Many chapters support local youth shooting teams and, in partnership with the MidwayUSA Foundation, help local youth shooting teams grow a team endowment that will support them forever. Ammo grants for PF or QF sponsored youth shooting events provide matching dollars for chapters as they teach target and wingshooting.
