Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s Milkweed in the Classroom Program (MIC) is a turn-key habitat education program for the classroom. Program support includes all the materials to the teachers to grow native plants in the classroom (seed, soil, planting containers, grow light), on-line training on how to grow native plants in the classroom, and curriculum that meets all national science standards. The results of this program not only benefit pollinators by providing quality foraging and nesting habitat, but also provide opportunities for youth to get outside and gain an appreciation for wildlife and conservation. Chapters can purchase a kit for their local classroom for only $250 while grant funds last, which includes Forever Outdoors memberships for each student. These kits work great to use in conjunction with a Pollinator Habitat Outreach Project as well! In the first two years of MIC chapters and grants have supported a total of 69 classrooms, 1,965 students, over 3,200 milkweed stems grown across 4 different states!
Cost= $250/kit while grant funds available or $500 full price.
Sign up deadline – Nov 30th 2021
Kits ship out to teachers – January 2022
